Drama CDs are sound only
plays performed by the seiyous. In Sakura Taisen drama CDs, not
only the play is recorded, but also some of the events that
happened around hanagumi members during the time of the
performance. You can hear the famous Sumire vs. Kanna (very
often actually), the mistake-prone Sakura and the trademark
pick-the-lead-actress-by-drawing too. ^^;;
There are four
drama cd series up to now. The time of the first series coincide
with the first Sakura Taisen game so only the original six
members of the hanagumi appear in the CD (and Ayame-chan too).
Orihime and Reni joined hanagumi in the second series, which is
not surprising, occurs during the time of Sakura Taisen 2. Third
series basically follows the second series and the new
Parikegekidan made their debut in the fourth series. Each series
have 4 CDs and the 4th series has just concluded with Sumire's
retirement show drama CD.
